From Missoula - take Highway 93 north toward Glacier National Park (another fun
site). Continue to the fifteen mile marker and an historical marker sign - no this
is not for Shy Bear Farm! The highway curves left - this is commonly called Dirty
Corner - turn right at this point on to Coldwater Lane continuing about 1 mile to
the stop sign. Turning is required - go right and continue a couple miles or so
and, as the Jocko Road that you are traveling on curves to the left, - go straight
- this eventually turns into a gravel road. Altho there are no road signs, this is
called Blodgett Lane and curves once to the right, then after a quarter mile, turns to the
left and goes uphill. Just beyond the crest of the hill, watch for Shy Bear Farm signs
to your left. They mark a mile long driveway that is an adventure in itself. Continue
about 1/8 mile - dare to go over the cattle guard, keep left as the second sign will
hopefully point out and continue to the top of the ridge. There you drop down to the back
side of the ridge staying to the left when you come to a little fork in the road. Continue
to the end of the road and Shy Bear Farm. There may be vehicles parked along the lower
section of this road. If so, it may mean parking lot is full. Come on in, check out the
parking situation and, if necessary, drive back out and find a parking area along the side
of the road. From points north of Arlee, continue through Arlee ½ mile and turn
left onto Jocko Road (at electrical substation). Continue east to Blodgett Lane. Continue
as above. LIMITED PARKING
