The Missoula Folklore Society is a Montana 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation. The activities of the Missoula Folklore Society rely on our dedicated membership. Members donate thousands of volunteer hours each year to help produce our events and enrich our cultural community.

MFS events include concerts, contra dances, shape note singing, and music jam sessions. Check out our Concert Series! (Folk, Blues, Bluegrass, Celtic, Irish, Country, Cajun, in short, live music of all types!). We welcome singles and couples to our bi-weekly Contra Dances, October through May. All dances are taught from scratch, no experience is necessary, although it's helpful to know your right from your left. But if you don't, come anyway!

The November 5th 2005 Contra Dance at the University Ballroom raised over $1,000 for hurricane and earthquake relief. Thank you!!! Check out photos from this dance.
